Why is that song so cool?

February 4th, 2011

I love what we’re singing at the Seattle Ladies Choir, especially the opportunity to sing in 6 part harmony. When there’s no guarantee the mezzo next to me is singing the same part, the adrenline kicks in and I have to work my reading skills, ears AND voice.

One of the reasons I joined was the opportunity to sing new, hot music like Florence in the Machine. No, we’re not singing Dog Days are Over but this video rocks.

Where the Girls Are: Seattle Ladies Rock

January 27th, 2011

I joined The Seattle Ladies’ Choir!

This small (but talented!) contemporary ladies’ choir repertoire includes songs by Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles, Fleetwood Mac, The Shins, The Living Sisters, Smokey Robinson and more! We are business owners, self-employed, professionals and homemakers in our mid 20’s to late 30’s coming from all walks of life with varying levels of musical experience! We LOVE to sing, but outside of choir we also have potlucks and organize nights out with the girls!

Like last week when we sang Love is a Battlefield at the Vera Project’s Fundraiser hosted at the Paramount. Free 80s hair style were provided by Vain and although this is a bad picture, I think it is embarassing enough!

Oh, PS – see our mention in Elle!
